3 Ingredient Summer Sorbet

Posted by curlyq on May 8, 2014 in DIY Home, Nutrition, Products we love |

Summer always gets me thinking of my Dad’s Mom who everyone, even small children, called by her first name. “Patricia” was a wonderful cook who was always entertaining in her glass house overlooking the Tangipahoa River. She kept this sorbet on hand for her visitors to have a refreshing treat after a morning on the beach. This sorbet recipe is quick and easy and absolutely delicious!

All you do is combine 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of buttermilk, and 2 cups of fruit in a food processor and freeze it. Done!

My family’s favorite fruits to use are strawberries or watermelon, but we’ve also tried blueberry and cantaloupe. As my grandmother would say, this sorbet “is simply divine!” Give it a try, let me know if you tweak the recipe, and what your favorite flavor is in the comments below.

I’m so glad you found the pix of Patricia. I love the one with Ned! They were really quite a pair. Lots of wonderful memories because of their incredible hospitality for decades. I miss them both a lot.

Thank you Caroline, this picture also brought back memories of when all the adults and kids from the neighborhood went tubing on the Tangipahoa RIver. Don’t know if I tasted Patricia’s sorbet or not but I will definitley try it soon.

    Thanks for the memories

    Miss Toni
