Mommy Mentor KMom
A few years ago I was at my mom’s house digging through kid toys and old folders we had saved, and I came across a note I wrote when I was probably 7 or 8 about “when I grow up”. It said, “when I grow up I want to be: a mom and a hair-dresser.” Well, thanks to my husband the first part came true, and thanks to my oldest daughter’s luscious locks, the second part ironically came true as well! I’m blessed to have two beautiful girls (ages 4 and 18 months) and another baby due in July.
I love all things artsy and creative – music, painting, crafts, cooking…you name it, and naturally, these things work their way into my parenting style. I LOVE hearing about new ideas/tips from other moms, and I hope to be able to share a few of my own that I’ve stumbled upon on this journey. Aside from being a stay at home mom, I also run my own Massage Therapy business from a home office, and I’ve learned that balancing work, marriage, family life, and everything in between can be a very delicate balance.
Being a parent is truly the most daunting and important job on the face of the planet. It’s a huge and sometimes overwhelming responsibility, yet I take a lot of comfort knowing that people have been doing it, literally, since the beginning of time. So I try to sit back, hold on tight, and enjoy each preciously exhausting moment – because really, at this point, there’s not much else you can do!
